Happy and disappointed (?)

This year I participate, I been working hard since 2017, some years I won in 5th or 4th place, but never top 3. I think I did a good job, but the voting was kinda hard to do as some contestants have a lot of followers. I don't know where I failed to be in top 3 as I am a digital Illustrator and webtoon/comic maker.

I still happy for 5th place tho. I thank you everyone who supports my art.

INTERESTING

It's so bizarre to me that there are all these accounts defending the first-place art winner in such a weird way. Everyone knows she didn't even meet the basic requirements to be in the voting round. The strangest part is that these people defending her so obsessively 'don't even know her'. It obviously can't be a fellow contestant, that would make zero sense. How could anyone who actually followed all the rules, only to lose to someone who broke them, possibly defend the winner? It's completely insane.

True, but for example I won before (not even the first 3 places, always special prize or 4/5 place and I did fulfill all the requirements. I won 5th this year, even though I am happy for it, it's disappoing that first place won without meeting the requirements, not only happens in art and craft but in others too. I believe the votes have. A lot to do with it, as first places have big account that can show what the tema wants (Korean tourism). It's okay, but still feel sad I never enter top 3 when I think my work is really good ...

Dissapointing.

It's very disappointing overall, as everyone here loves Korea, and it's truly shocking that the overall winner, the best among thousands of participants (who has already won in previous years), wins again without fulfilling a fundamental requirement. I'm not questioning her previous victory, as it has nothing to do with this contest (I only mention it because it seems quite curious that she wins twice) and this time without meeting the basic criteria. Honestly, it's very disappointing...

It's incredible how I've tried to communicate through every possible means provided by the contest and they offer no explanation. @Everyone

When “Making Of” Doesn’t Matter: The Problem With Unchecked AI Entries

I’m GameAndPopArt. The organizers refuse to respond on any other platform more than 2 weeks (they saw it ) . And as I can see, I’m not the only one having problems with this here. This shows complete disregard for their own participants and followers. Is this really how they represent Korea? Do they seriously call this a “prestigious” international competition? Because right now, it looks more like chaos than professionalism.

My concern is not about any specific winner but how is it possible that entries without a making-of video were even accepted, let alone awarded? How could an artwork that clearly shows signs of AI involvement pass the evaluation process? Were these entries even reviewed properly?

As a developer, I can recognize AI-generated content, and it’s deeply disappointing to see such works go unchecked. Are we supposed to compete against AI creations next year? Is this the new standard…

The Winner Broke the Rules, and It's Not Okay.

I'm truly impressed while reading certain comments on Instagram about the contest. I had never created an account here, and out of curiosity, I did. I'm surprised by the lack of empathy from some who feel frustrated. It's normal because, evidently, the girl who won the art category didn't meet one of the two fundamental criteria. I didn't even make it to the voting round with my modern hanbok design, but that's not the problem. It's frustrating that people like me, who followed the steps, were left out, and she, who didn't follow something elementary, won an all-expenses-paid trip to Korea. It's astounding.

I'm not writing this to stir up trouble, but I find it illogical that some have posted here that we should celebrate and not discuss. That sounds a bit ridiculous. Are we seeing something unfair and should we stay silent when an injustice happens? We're not doing…

I agree with you, but I don't think the posts you mentioned are genuine, it feels like they’re coming from a coordinated group. I find it interesting that some people consistently questioned entries, including mine, which I don’t mind, but never the first-place winner, both on Instagram and here.

Even when they got replies, they didn’t follow up or discuss, which shows they weren’t really trying to understand anyone’s view... they just focused on other participants. Their “investigation” continued in separate posts by different accounts, picking up exactly where the previous ones left off and reinforcing each other, but still never mentioning the first-place entry.

They often talked about “fairness” yet never applied the same to the winner, which feels like a clear double standard.

After targeting others, new posts changed tone to praise the contest and organizers, sayin we should just celebrate and move on. Using that to stop discussing real concerns, framing them as bitterness, which feels strange and contradictory, especially when questions about the first-place winner are still not answered.

If a coordinated group like this exists, it raises serious concerns about the honesty and fairness of the voting process. @Keila De los Ángeles Navarrete-Rey The post you mentioned was deleted, but here’s what it said for context, so others can see what you replied to "Friends, I know there has been a lot of drama surrounding the results of the TalkTalk Korea 2025 contest, especially in the Art & Craft category. Some people are questioning the methods and choices of the winners, suggesting that certain elements weren’t fully original or were created with outside help. But let’s be honest, this contest is already over. The winners were chosen, and they will each receive wonderful prizes: a trip to Korea, $1,000 in Amazon gift cards, $600 in Amazon gift cards, and so on. That’s something to be grateful for! Many of us joined, poured our hearts into our work, and left empty-handed, not even a $20 gift card. Yet you don’t see us complaining or attacking each other. Now it’s time to let go of the bitterness. Be proud of your amazing creations, hold your head high, and know that you are deserving of the recognition you received. More opportunities will come in the future, and each contest is a new chance to shine. From the bottom of my heart, congratulations to all the winners, and to all the future winners who will continue to elevate Korean culture and spread love for it around the world."

At the end again.

I haven't actually taken a look at this contest since the winners were chosen until now. This is my fourth I think time participating in this contest. I think in learnt and grew every year so I'm grateful for that. I'm happy to be able to see everyone's work and see everyone love and appreciation for this culture. I want to say congrats to the winners. As for the issues that have arised. I'm not going to tell anyone not to be upset or let their voice be heard. Everyone is entitled to thier feelings and opinions as long as it doesn't cross a line I think. Considering that it seems to be causing significant issues to do hope the organisers address it so that participants can have confidance in the contest going forward.

My wish for next year is a bit if a change up in the contest. We've…

TalkTalkKorea2025

I want to thank the organizers of talk talk korea for holding this type of contest. Personally, I am very proud of my submitted work because it was days and hours of dedication with a lot of love and admiration for the beautiful Korea. I am very happy to have participated, even though I was not even a finalist, it fills me with pride that I did it and gave it my all. It is a very nice experience to see that so many people from around the world are just as passionate about Korean culture as I am. It was my first year competing, since Korea caught my attention in January of this year and I still don't know much about it. So I apologize if there was an error in the information provided in my work. Thank you again for this experience. I hold my head high an…

1st place ART CATEGORY

It is important to recall that the winner of the first prize in the art category, the one that includes the highest reward, did not follow the contest rules regarding the "making of" section.

This is both disappointing and serious, considering thousands of people competed. Furthermore, the winner must be aware of this, yet has remained silent about this irregularity.

I am sending this message so the organizers are aware that many of us are still following this situation and awaiting an official statement from them. It is unfair to every participant that someone who did not fulfill a core requirement is recognized as the best work in the contest. This is a serious matter that undermines the competition's integrity. @Everyone
