Although K-pop is normally what foreigners associate with Korean Music there are many other genres that are familiar to Koreans. This illustration is to represent different styles and eras of K-Music, in a more stylised way. For this drawing I depicted a pansori singer, then one female trot singer from the 60/70's, an accoustic singer from the 80/90's, a trot singer from more recent years, a male idol singer that could be associated with survival shows and a female idol singer at the top, since female groups are the ones that have been dominating the charts in the past couple years. Hope this gives some curiosity for people to explore other types of Korean Music besides what is heard now.
