Thanks for kpop!

2023.09.26

The first time I heard Kpop I was 14 years old. It's amazing how something as simple as music can change your whole life, your mood and the way you see things.

Thanks to kpop I discovered one of the hobbies that I love doing the most, which is dance.

The first time I went on stage was in 2018 when I participated in a "Kpop show" I had many things on my mind,

I had learned a choreography in a short time and I didn't want something to go wrong but when I danced I enjoyed it too much, despite of shyness, fear or nerves was a feeling that I will never forget and that I experience every time I go on stage.

Thanks to kpop I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people who accompanied me and supported me throughout my life, dance partners and friends who helped me overcome fears, friends with whom we shared the same taste in music and the same dreams.

Thanks to Kpop, I was encouraged to do things that I had never done before, such as creating and designing costumes for my dance group and using them in performances.

Thanks to Kpop I found emotional support in music that I like and artists that inspire me to get ahead despite the difficult moments I had in my life because when I read the lyrics of their songs I felt totally identified.

Thanks to Kpop I was encouraged to go to a concert, it was the first concert I went to and the first one I paid for on my own without the help of my parents, feeling proud to be able to treat myself independently.

Sometimes we think "it's just music" but we don't know the story behind each one, I know I'm not the only one who had such beautiful experiences, that a million more will feel identified and that makes this more special, despite from being just music, this unites several people regardless of whether they are miles away because kpop has even formed couples as well as friendships uniting different nationalities. When I started listening to kpop I was 14 years old, now I'm 20 (about to turn 21 in October! ) but I still think this totally changed my life (The photo is from my last presentation with costumes made by me)
