Slogan

Korea’s Jewel Lives in My Soul

project intent

Through my story, I want to describe and illustrate how an experience with Korean culture can evolve new meanings in our life within time. Jewel in the Palace first shaped my childhood; years later, its influence and lessons helped me build a future beyond an prohibited education.

The “jewel” in my slogan represents what I carried from Jang-geum’s life story: patience, the willingness to learn, and the courage to choose my own path. Her choice to help others while building a happy family life also shaped my understanding of independence. I hope to communicate how a story from another culture can become deeply personal, helping a young woman find the strength to pursue an education and a life she values.
